Every now and again, I see a headline that makes me realize how old I am. This week, it’s this: “Tinder rolls out new ‘spring break mode’ feature for Las Vegas“. As a 21-year old going to party in Vegas, this would be the best news of the year. As a 35-year old going married guy going to eat and watch shows in Vegas, this makes me wonder allowed if we really need it to be easier to hook up in Vegas.

Tinder Spring Break Mode Gets the Vegas Treatment

So what is Spring Break Mode? Here’s how it works: Get on Tinder and look for the Spring Break card. From there, you can add your Spring Break destination to see who’s going where. We’ll show you the location your potential matches are headed right on their profiles, so you can match and chat before you pack your bags and go.

So basically, if all the alcohol, amazing pool parties, the best night clubs, and vacation dulling inhibitions don’t work out, you always have your Tinder matches as a backup.

Speaking of best night clubs, Marshmellow, my favorite DJ just announced a 2-year residency at KAOS at The Palms. The $60M deal is one of the largest in Vegas history for the 4th most streamed artist on Spotify. Needless to say, this is one of the biggest EDM stars in the world and a huge get for The Palms.

Marshmello Creates KAOS @ The Palms

Marshmello will open the club on April 6th and is slated to play the dayclub and nightclub throughout the summer into 2019 and 2020. GA tickets are on sale now and start at $25 for ladies and $35 for men.

And now the bad news curtisy of Vital Vegas: MGM Resorts to Replace Bartenders With Machines (No, Really). I knew this was coming and after getting a bit deeper, this may not be as big of a bombshell as it first seemed, but still one more step towards a different Vegas. But then, on Twitter, they dropped the big bomb:

This is not good. I’m guessing in practice this really means that the free-loaders and small fish will have to pay for their own drinks and the sharks and whales will be inconvenienced, but still, the point remains. The free-drink ride is about to come to an end. And because it’s MGM (one of the two largest casino conglomerates) this will cascade across the entire Vegas landscape.
