Over the past few weeks, Vegas has screeched to a halt, closing casinos, events, restaurants, and shows down in an unprecedented lock down. But Vegas is notorious for the big swings and we know it will be back and better than ever soon.

While we (not so) patiently wait for the Vegas lights to turn back on, we want to highlight some of the current and future stars of Vegas! Our first feature will be Josh Jacobs, the star running back for the Vegas Raiders.

Jacobs (buy jersey) was drafted in the first round of last year’s NFL draft and quickly established himself not only as the top rookie in the NFL, but also as one of the top running backs in the league. Before the shoulder injury that cost him a few games, he was the run away favorite for NFL Rookie of the Year, which he ended up runner up to QB Kyler Murray.

Jacobs quickly became a fan favorite because of his success on the field and his openness outside the lines. His @iAM_JoshJacobs twitter feed is one of the best follows around and he interacts with fans in an authentic way.

In Vegas, we believe he has the ability to build upon his Kia Super Bowl ad and become a local star and face of the franchise for the Raiders. His smile is infectious, his pedigree is royalty (National Champion at Alabama), and his production on the field will help him become a huge star in Vegas.

Speaking of that production, he ended the season with 1150 rushing yards, 7 touchdowns, and nearly 5 yards per carry in just 13 games. He ranked 3rd in the NFL in rushing yards per game (below only Derrick Henry and Nick Chubb) and was in the top 5 in rush attempts per game, all this while only losing 1 fumble all year.

He was the brightest spot on a middle of the road offense and gives the Raiders hope for a playoff birth in their first year in Vegas. With an improved defense in free agency and weapons on offense likely coming in the draft, the Raiders will be in much better position to take advantage of a top 5 running game in 2020.
