If you haven’t heard, Vegas is re-opening on June 4th after after 78 days that felt more like 780 days. The resorts that are opening will be limited and it will look quite a bit different than it did just 3-months ago, but it’s a start!
Since we’ve already canceled two trips this year during the lockdown, and because we are getting restless, we have booked a trip for the third week of Vegas being opened. Enough time to get the kinks out, but still with many of the restrictions in place.
As we were booking, the number of deals and the inexpensive cost to book really stood out. There are definitely some great deals to be had, especially if you are a rewards member.
Let’s take a look at the deals on hotels, flights, food, and limited entertainment for the re-opening. We will focus on the middle of the month, but most of the prices were very similar throughout the week.
Cost for a Strip Room in Vegas: June 18-21
We get our best perks at MGM resorts and this was no different. Our Gold Tier offer was 2-nights comped and $150 of resort credit at Bellagio or 4-night comped and $150 resort credit at MGM Grand or New York-New York. We went with Bellagio and our room total for 4 nights was just under $300 all-in including resort fees and taxes.

But let’s take a look at those prices if you were not getting comps:

Most of these prices are well under the typical rates and a great deal, especially for a weekend in Vegas. The pool parties, nightclubs, and shows won’t be running, but the hotel pools and many of the restaurants will be open for business.
Flights to Las Vegas for June 18-21
The most variable part of the equation will be actually getting to Vegas. If you are driving from Las Angeles or local to the Vegas area, you will get a nice savings. But flights are cheap currently, so there’s a 50-60% discount over traditional flights during this time of the year. That said, some of the hardest hit areas (east coast & Houston for example) have cancelled routes and see increased ticket prices to Vegas.
Let’s take a quick look at some tickets prices from around the world. It is important to know that bags and extras may not be included in these fares, especially with the low-cost providers. This could increase your ticket price $50-$100 or more depending on your choices.

On average, a flight from a major city with a low cost provider can be had for under $200 round-trip. National providers and international flights can be closer to $300 round-trip with the highest we looked at being from London at $775. We highly recommend booking these flights now while many airlines are having sales and trying to drum up business post-COVID-19 shutdown.
Coming from Indianapolis on a budget airline, our flights would be about $350 after bags, seats, and premium options at the airport.
