Your Vegas Personality Results:

You are a Joe W. Flow

So you’re a Joe W. Flow? Great! Want to know the best part? You are going to love Vegas no matter what you do, where you stay, who you go with, or what you get talked into. And you will get talked into some stuff, because you’re always up for whatever.

The Joe W. Flow personality is a bit like a chameleon. You can enjoy spending a relaxing weekend watching shows and eating fancy dinners with your significant other or you can live it up on a boys/girls weekend, eating burgers and fries, and staying in a hotel that’s affordable for everyone.

VEGAS INSPIRED COLLECTIONS

You have some preferences, but only when you feel very strongly about something will you put your foot down. Because you are not likely to say no, we recommend taking more risks with your choices of shows, restaurants, and learn new games at the casino when you do are the one who picks.

As for hotels, you will often be told where to go rather than making the decision, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be informed. We often find that the Joe W. Flow personality ends up as the tie-breaker, so we have recommendations for every situation.

We recommend packing clothes for every occasion because you never know where the night will take you. Especially in groups with numerous personality types, you may find that your group splinters at times and you’ll have choices to make on which side. Be prepared for a night at the club, hanging out at the casino, hitting a spot with a view, or playing it cool in the room.

We believe the Joe W. Flow personality is great in any group, so finding the right mix of friends is less important. That said, nothing is worse than sitting in your room trying to decide what to do, so if you go with a group of other Joe’s, you should have a game plan. We can help!

Without further ado, here are our Vegas recommendations and tips for the Joe W. Flow personality type.

Where to stay? Our Picks for Hotels in Vegas

The Joe W. Flow personality should have options. If you’re willing to go anywhere at a moments notice, it makes sense to stay in a hotel that’s in the center of the strip with access to everything Vegas has to offer.

If you want a cool, hip vibe, Aria and Cosmo are our favorite options. If you want to be a tourist and relive all the scenes from your favorite Vegas movies, check out the Bellagio (Ocean’s 11), Caesars (The Hangover). If you want to be taken to a new world, try the Venitian or Paris. And if you want only the best, The Wynn is probably your spot.

Top of the Class Hotels in Vegas

If the budget is not as important, check out our favorite hotels in the center of the strip: Aria, Cosmo, Venitian or Caesars. Add in the Bellagio and the Wynn (which is not central) and you have the most icon properties on the strip. You can’t go wrong!

Aria

A Five-Star, Five Diamond Resort with a corner view in every room.

The Aria is one of my go-to hotels and always ends up towards the top of the list no matter what type of trip I am taking. Its central location is a huge draw and is connected to Crystals shopping mall which is one of the stops for the MGM tram.

The Aria has a number of amazing restaurants including my current favorite in Vegas, Sage. There are plenty of other amazing spots, including Lemongrass (Thai), Julian Serrano Tapas, Jean Georges Steakhouse, Carbon (Italian), Bardot (French), Blossom (Chinese), Javier’s (Mexican), Five50 (pizza) and Herringbone (seafood). I am confident in saying that each concept is one of the best in class in Vegas and as a whole, Aria has my second favorite dining on the strip.

I do believe it is missing some less expensive options (which is why I rate Cosmo as the top), but it is easy enough to head to NY-NY or across the street to Planet Hollywood to find more affordable options. But if you want options for great food, Aria is a top choice.

Aria has one of the best pool complexes on the strip and offers a number of pools to relax. It also is home to the Liquid Pool Lounge, which is a smaller, more intimate club than the mega-clubs for those that appreciate that.

Jewel nightclub knows how to throw a party and brings in some top talent, the Aria offers a nice array of bars and nightlife. If you are looking to rage, there are probably better options, but if you want a more classy party scene, Aria has you covered.

The casino has a hip, masculine vibe and is one of the most interesting on the strip. You won’t get the scenic views like you would from the Bellagio or The Cosmo, but the rooms are nice and have plenty of tech.

Overall, Aria is good at everything, which means its a great location for a couples trip, a group trip, an upscale bachelor/bachelorette party, or just a quick trip to Vegas.

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is my favorite hotel currently, offering the best views in Vegas from amazing balconies overlooking the Bellagio Fountain (assuming you upgrade to that view). I would stay in The Cosmo on every trip if not for the premium price, but it’s often well worth the splurge.

Cosmo has my favorite selection of restaurants that makes it very hard to pick a favorite. It also offers a nice selection of different budget options that make it my King of the Vegas Food scene. China Poblano (Chinese & Mexican fusion) is the one restaurant I always seem to end up at, Estiatorio Milos is one of the top Mediterranean restaurants in the country, and zuma was the best new restaurant I tried on my last visit. Other favorites include STK (a new-wave Steakhouse), Scarpetta (Italian), Red Plate (Chinese), Momofuku (Asian fusion), Beauty & Essex (sharing plates, beautiful presentation), and Rose. Rabbit. Lie. (dinner and a show).

But where Cosmo really stands out is the new Block 16 Urban Food Hall, Egg Slut, and Secret Pizza. Each concept offers more affordable grab and go options without sacrificing quality. The Urban Food Hall includes Hattie B’s Hot Chicken, Ghost Donkey: Mexcal & Tequila Bar, Lardo (sandwiches), Pok Pok Wings (Thai & Vietnamese), and more.

The Cosmo has a cool pool experience overlooking the strip, but doesn’t have the sprawling complexes to compete with Aria or Bellagio, which will suit many. They also are home to Marquee dayclub and nightclub which offer some of the hottest shows around. They also feature movies overlooking the strip at the pool complex throughout the year, which is a cool feature you won’t find everywhere.

The Casino is one of the most beautiful on the strip and often times feels like the place to be seen in Vegas. If you want to get all dressed up, it’s the ultimate place to be. The Chandelier Bar is something you have to see with your own eyes and is one of the most Instagramable spots on the strip. Cosmo features a sexy vibe that cascades throughout the entire property and brings an energy that I’ve found unmatched in Vegas.

Caesars Palace

Want to relive that crazy night in The Hangover? We don’t recommend it, but you can stay where the Wolfpack stayed. Caesars offers a great location, awesome food choices, great shopping, and plenty of entertainment & clubbing options for your party pleasure.

From celebrity-owned concepts and a world-class buffet to upscale dining and casual fare, Caesars Palace has one of the best dining experiences on the strip.. Voted “2015’s Best Variety of Restaurants” by Casino Player magazine, Caesars Palace is the ultimate destination for an eclectic assortment of top chef restaurants and other delectable dining options.

Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen, Pronto by Giada, Restaurant Guy Savoy, and Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill are some of the celebrity chef-driven concepts that call Caesars home. They also offer one of the widest selections of upscale restaurant on the strip including Old Homestead Steakhouse, Rao’s Las Vegas, Mr Chow, and Nobu Restaurant. Caesars also has the forum shops with the forum food court that offers quick bites at affordable prices. This includes the famous Halal Guys, Crepes and More, Smashburger. DiFara Pizza, Earl of Sandwich, Tiger Wok & Ramen, and Starbucks.

The pool complex at Caesars is one of the best on the strip and will make you feel like you are a Greek god/goddess bathing in the sun. They offer a huge selection of bars and nightclubs including OMNIA, which brings in top talent like Calvin Harris on Friday Nights.

The Forum Shops offer some of the best shopping on the strip and the casino is one of the largest. The Caesars Race and Sports Book is consistently ranked as the best in Vegas.

Caesars is also home to what many believe is the best show in Vegas, Absinthe, living in the red and white tent in front of Caesars. It is my top recommendation for shows in Vegas assuming you are okay with adult content and corse humor.

Overall, Caesars is one of the most icon properties in Vegas and is a great option for every type of trip. Access to shopping, amazing food options, buzzing nightlife, and top entertainment always make Caesars a top choice.

Venetian & Palazzo

The Venetian & Palazzo combine to be the largest hotel in the United States and the second largest in the world. You can be sure there’s something for everyone here, which is perfect if you are open to everything Vegas has to offer. The most unique feature is the Italian theme and the Grand Canal, where over half a million visitors take gondola rides every year.

If you love to eat, the hotels offer over 40 restaurants that will meet every taste. America’s Best Chef (Thomas Keller) and two other chefs (Wolfgang Puck and Emeril Lagasse) have been named James Beard Award winners and all have concepts within the Venetian/Palazzo.

Want to be entertained? The Venetian has one of the largest malls in Vegas under the room and features everything from top designers to America’s favorite stores. Tao Nightclub is always rated as one of the best in Vegas and attracts world-class DJs and celebrities such as Madonna, Jay-Z, Usher, Drake, Rihanna, Heidi Klum, Kim Kardashian, Jamie Foxx, and Bono.

The complex offers a number of pools, day clubs, and cabanas to keep the party rocking all day or even providing a relaxing oasis in the sun. And of course, The Venetian houses one of the largest casino floors in the world and offers everything you’d expect from one of the top hotels in Vegas.

Wynn & Encore

Bellagio

For me, the Bellagio is a MUST visit on every Vegas trip, but I am less likely to recommend staying there over other options. If you love touristy options and want to be part of a buzz throughout your stay, Bellagio might be the place for you. Because of it’s famous roots and amazing attractions, there are tourists everywhere, taking pictures, playing a single hand of blackjack, and grabbing the popular slot machines.

That said, the Bellagio has an awesome location and is home to some of the top free attractions in Vegas. The Fountain show is a must on every visit and is quintessential Las Vegas. The Conservatory is one of the most beautiful places on the strip and rotates out multiple times a year, so another must visit. The rooms are nice and the casino is gorgeous.

If you’ve never been to Vegas and want the traditional Vegas experience, the Bellagio is a beautiful option. It has a great location, offers awesome restaurants with spectacular views, connects to shopping, and is the epicenter of the strip.

Budget-Friendly Vegas Hotels

Park MGM & New York-New York

If you are looking for a great location on a budget, Park MGM and New York-New York are great options. Park MGM has the hottest Vegas Residencies (Lady Gaga, Aerosmith, Bruno Mars to name a few) and is right next to the T-Mobile Arena which has concerts and sports (Vegas Knights!) almost daily.

NYNY offers one of my favorite atmospheres in Vegas and access to many of the similar amenities. There are a plenthora of solid dining options that are more affordable than many similar quality places on the strip. It always feels like a party in NYNY, from the roller coaster zipping by to the party that is always spilling out of the bars in the center of the casino. It’s home to the Vegas Coyote Ugly and everyone always seems to be happy.

The Linq or Harrahs

The Linq or Harrahs give you access to the Linq Promenade would be another great option. It is on the opposite side of the strip then the MGM properties but offers lots to do in a great location. This is where you can check out the High Roller (the large Ferris Wheel you see in the pictures), concerts and live music for free on the promenade, and a ton of budget food options including In-And-Out Burger, which is a favorite.

Tropicana

The Palms

If the strip isn’t your thing, The Palms is a cool, newly renovated hotel with a party history. This was the home to The Real World and the parties helped make Paris Hilton famous. In April of 2019, the Palms will channel its party roots and open KAOS, a 70,000 square feet, indoor/outdoor party experience. Cardi B, Skrillex, Travis Scott, and a host of top talent will help open the newest dayclub/nightclub and continue to remake The Palms as a destination in Vegas that cannot be ignored.

Apex Social Club is one of my favorite spots in Vegas with amazing views at from the 55th floor of The Palms overlooking the strip, replacing the famous Ghostbar. It’s small, intimate, and offers breathtaking 360 degree views from the large balcony. The energy is great and you can dance or sit away from the music and actually have a conversation. This is a perfect place to grab a drink (or bottle service) for any group.

Overall, the hotel you choose likely won’t make your vacation, but choosing the wrong one could. Budget hotels have their place, but we find that there’s not a large enough difference in price to make up for the great amenities, entertainment options, and overall vibe that the above hotels provide.

Where to eat? Recommendations for Every Meal in Las Vegas

You are up for anything, we’ve already established that. But what happens when your significant other, buddies, friends, girls, or group can’t decide on a place to eat. That’s where you come in, the tiebreaker. These are our favorite restaurants and are sure to make an impression on any group. Caveat emptor, these choices are sooo good, you may have to make more decisions in the future.

Everyday Breakfast: Mon Ami Gabi @ Paris

(menu)

Weekend Brunch: Thomas Keller’s Bouchon @ The Venetian

Why did the chicken cross the road? To get next to these waffles!

This is one of the weekends only brunch places, but it is first for a reason… It could be the best breakfast I’ve ever had. The Oeufs Benedict was out of this world and the Poulet et des Gaufres was the chicken and waffles dish that I dream about. The Assortiment de Pâtisserie is worth the splurge ($14.50 for 4 pieces), but they are out of this world. And the butter… Oh, the butter is so good you might just eat it with a fork.

Fancy Lunch: Milos @ The Cosmopolitan for Lunch

Milos at The Cosmopolitan is one of the top Meditranian places in the world, so there’s never a bad time to have a meal. But at lunch, it’s one of the best deals on the strip where you can get a 3-course lunch for just $29. You can also add a generous wine pairing for $19.

Lots of restaurants fly in fresh seafood daily to ensure they have the best quality, but Milos sources and flies in tomatoes and produce to ensure it gives the perfect, authentic taste. You expect to pay top dollar for this type of perfection and you do at dinner and it’s worth every penny.

Milos focuses on simple ingredients, fresh flavors, and allows these beautiful dishes to stand on their own. When you start with the best ingredients, you let them take center stage, and Milos does this as well as any restaurant on the strip.

Casual Lunch: Block 16 Urban Food Hall

Great food doesn’t have to cost a fortune and unique culinary concepts can be found throughout the USA. That’s the theme of Block 16 Urban Food Hall. Some of the best casual, local restaurants in America have taken their grab and go concepts to Vegas at the Cosmopolitan.

Now open on Level 2 of The Cosmopolitan, Block 16 Urban Food Hall is a culinary destination like no other on The Las Vegas Strip. Showcasing a curated selection of purveyors, they’ve scoured the country’s most traversed city streets to bring the most crave-able, easy-to-love food & drink to The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Bold flavors, world-renowned chefs and a lively atmosphere draw you in and compel you to stay. From breakfast to late-night, at Block 16 you can indulge in spontaneity, absorb the atmosphere—and maybe even surprise yourself.
