It’s year three in Vegas and the Golden Knights are the talk of the town in Las Vegas. Winning the division and making it all the way to the Staley Cup Finals in their first year certainly sets the expectations high. Last year, they finished 3rd in the division and ultimately fell to the Sharks in 7 games in the first round of the playoffs.
The 2019-20 season again has high expectations and a team that thinks they missed an opportunity last year. They get to open the season on October 2nd against the Sharks, the team that they let slip by them to end their season last year.
So how high are expectations? ESPN Pre-Season Power Rankings have then at #4 with 10-1 odds to win the Stanley Cup. Fansided has them in the 1st Tier of teams that will compete for a championship. And Sports Illustrated has then as the 6th best team going into the season. Needless to say, this looks like a clear playoff team that expects to be playing deep into the playoffs in 2020. This is great news for Vegas!
Whether you are a huge NHL fan that wants to catch a game when you’re in Vegas, a huge VGK supporter who hasn’t had a chance to make it to the strip for a game, or just a fan of the game who wants to see what the fuss is about, hitting up a VGK game should be on the top of your list. It is one of the most fun atmospheres in all of the NHL and the strip goes VGK crazy on game (k)nights. Here’s everything you need to know about VGK gamedays.
T-Mobile Arena – Connected to Park MGM
The home of the Vegas Golden Knights is the T-Mobile arena, one of the coolest arenas in all the NHL. Whether you want to get in the door as cheaply as possible or you want a VIP premium experience, T-Mobile Arena has something to offer. The arena holds 18,485 for hockey and with over 14,000 season ticket holders, every game is expected to be sold out for the year. If you want tickets, you’re going to have to try the secondary markets.
VEGAS INSPIRED COLLECTIONS
The T-Mobile Arena also houses UFC, Boxing, and many of the top concerts on the Vegas strip. It is attached to the Park MGM hotel and is run by MGM Resorts International. The arena is between Park MGM and New York-New York and each has tons of events and fun opportunities going on pre-game and post-game. Many of the dealers and staff wear VGK gear and you will find a great buzz in both casinos around game time.

VGK Apparel, Jerseys, & Gear
When you go to the game you should look the part! Hockey jerseys are always in, but there are also much less expensive options for the casual fan. A VGK t-shirt or hat is a perfect way to show your support and get a souvenir at the same time.
VGK gear is some of the coolest in the NHL!

Vegas Golden Knight Hotels
Coming to Vegas during a game and want to be close to the action? We recommend the Park MGM or New York-New York hotels if you are looking to be right in the action and do not need a high-end experience. Both these hotels are very hockey friendly and will have tons of fans from both teams hanging out pre-and-post-game. These are still nice hotels that are part of the MGM MLife program and are good values (for Vegas).
Because of the central location, any hotel on the strip is still accessible. Aria and MGM Grand are both pretty close and Caesars, Venetian, and even Wynn are options. If hockey isn’t your number one priority for the trip, you may consider your favorite hotel on the strip, but if you want the buzz around the game, Park MGM and NYNY are the way to go.
Book a room at Park MGM or New York-New York here.
