Happy National Beer Day! I am celebrating by swearing off beer forever while nursing my hangover after a charity bar crawl yesterday in Indianapolis, but it will be short lived!

I wish I was in Vegas checking out our favorite spots to grab a cold one while partaking in our favorite activities. Vegas is uniquely designed to ensure that you can get a drink at nearly any venue at any time of the day, so it’s the perfect place to celebrate a day such as this.

The Black Jack Table

If you’re looking for me in Vegas, perusing the blackjack pits will give you the highest chance of finding me. And when taking in an afternoon praying for BJs, I’ll often order one of the classics, Miller Lite, Bud Light, or Coors Light. In my day-to-day life, I don’t often drink light domestics, but when it’s 10 in the morning and I plan to be at the table for most of the day, a nice crisp beer can hit the spot.

I am one of the odd people who after 15 years of legal drinking still hasn’t picked a go-to domestic, so I will usually order whatever the table is drinking to make it easy. If no one else is having a beer, I’ll usually rotate depending on which pops in my head first. Either way, the best (and only) time I’m drinking a domestic is when it’s “free”, so the blackjack table is ideal.

The Hotel Pool

If I’m not at the blackjack table, I’m at the pool during the day. This is actually my favorite place in Vegas when the weather is right and during the spring/summer, my hotel choice is dictated by the pool. The prices at the pool are not for the faint of heart, with some of the large drinks running up into the $40-$50 range, so a bucket of beers is always a good choice when spending the day at the pool.

VEGAS INSPIRED COLLECTIONS

I tend to lean towards Dos Equis (XX) or Corona (in the order) and prefer the tall boy variety with a lime. Buckets run about $40 for 5 tall boys after tip, so you can escape an afternoon in the sun without breaking the bank. In addition, you can often split the bucket into different beers if you have friends with different tastes and still get the (small) discount.

The Spot with The View

View of the Vegas Strip from Apex Social Club at The Palms

Vegas has some amazing views from all parts of the strip and even off the strip looking back. From amazing shows like the Fountains at the Bellagio or the Volcano show at Mirage, taking in one of these marvels views while sipping on a cold one is highly recommended.

Some of our favorite views include the Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay, Apex at The Palms, any balcony at The Cosmo or room at the Bellagio overlooking the Fountains and 107 Sky Lounge at The Strat. Any of these breath-taking views of the strip, the mountains, or the man-made marvels will be enhanced with a nice craft beer or two.

The Casino Bar

The Chandelier Bar at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

When considering casino bars, The Chandelier Bar at the Cosmo is always where I start. This three story bar is a sight to see on its own, but also gives amazing views of one of the most beautiful casinos on the strip.

The people watching at the casino bars around the strip is the best around. Whether you want to relax during a walk down the strip, need a place to relax before dinner, or want a late night drink, the bars that line the casinos up and down the strip will give you access to great brews, amazing people watching views, and easy access to everything else that Vegas has to offer.

Some of our favorites include Juniper at Park MGM, Fusion Mixology Bar at Palazzo, Eastside Lounge at Encore (overlooking the pool), The Heart Bar at Planet Hollywood, and Parasol Down at Wynn.

Walking the Strip or Fremont Street

There’s no reason you have to be tied to one place while enjoying an ice cold beer in Vegas! You can be mobile. Grab one of the large vanity cups or just stop into any Walgreens or CVS and pick up a 24oz can and walk the strip. This is always the first thing we do on our first morning in Vegas: Grab a beer and take a stroll through the casinos.

If you’ve never checked out “old Vegas” take an Uber to Fremont Street and check out a different side of Vegas. From art installations at Container Park to the Mob Museum and a host of interesting downtown casinos, the Fremont Street area is a must visit on your next trip to Vegas. And like everything on this list, it will be enhanced with a cold one.

No matter what you’re doing in Vegas, you can enhance it with an ice cold beer everyday, but especially on National Beer Day. Although, in Vegas, every day is a great day to celebrate the national treasure that is a cold beer.
